I guess it just depends on the person. I thought I had read some people commenting that they didn't like the pony heads on the human bodies. It doesn't matter to me, they're all very well done. Love your new icon, by the way! Did you make it?
Beautiful piece here. The hooves correspondent with the rest of the body so nicely, and with a few "fur" on it, it looks hairy and stylish. I like that part. The tail was kind of hard for me to look at, being a MLPFiM fan myself and getting used to that kind of it, but after a while, it gets stuck in the head. I always felt the "Butt tattoo" (Cutie mark) should be a bit nearer to the anus (guess this is the only way to say it polite, no?) and a bit "deeper in the leg" (nearer) to the knee than it is now, but it is quite nicely positioned. The overall drawing is great, and there's little to no possibilities of me finding something remarkably wrong about it. I think I could threat this drawing as a "Humanization" of the MLP ponies, but i'd rather call it a "Fusion", because it has a humanoid shape to it, yet it still stays loyal to the original concept (of it being a pony/horse). I need to suggest, though, considering putting it in front of a more "Busy" and more "White-dominated" background, add a bit of even brighter highlights (flares) to some parts of her body and literally make it "Shine". But that doesn't mean that it is not "Shining" as it is. Brilliant work.
May I try to play around with it a bit? To give you an idea of kind of what I was thinking for the background (of course i'll not request the full pic, I just ask for permission to edit it) and the highlights.
This is a rough drawing (about 10 mins) but i guess it gives the idea of what I am thinking about. Notice how I used the brush for the highlights on the "fur" and how I used the Shapes of a 4 edged star for the highlights on the hair and the hooves. The background was the hardest part, since i had first to delete your background and then set a "multiply" layer over your pic to draw on it with the background. There's (Again) a lot of unclean parts on it, but then again, it's just a "refference" to show what i am thinking. No doubt you'd make it much better. I'd like to see something more "shaded" from you, since i see you have a very good "sense for shading". You could try something more serious, but this doesn't mean that you should try something more serious. This is a recommendation. [link]
P.S. Yea, I know - it kind of looks underwater because of those stars over her. The shadow's kind of messed up too - but as said before - no hardcore work :3
The color pallet you chose for the background is quite lovely. I've been watching a lot of Star Trek TNG lately so maybe thats why I like the space feel to it. I've done detailed shading works in the past, though most of that stuff is in my other gallery and has yet to be moved over. I plan to move another folder's worth this weekend. Anyway I think I will go back and work out a more complex background. Thanks for the thoughts.
